Mykonos in a day

This is not a fair assessment because Mykonos should be visited for the Nightlife!

When cruising you get the ease of not having to drag your suitcases around but you lose seeing the nightlife of an island or location. We had a fabulous day in Mykonos but I feel we lost the experience of the world renowned nightlife on Mykonos.

We did not take an excursion but just got off the boat and took the ferry into town

The first thing I had to see was the famous windmills. They were so picturesque and sitting on a bench overlooking the windmills and the beautiful blue ocean was truly enough to make you stop and count your blessings! In order to get to the windmills you have to go through the little shops in Little Venice ( the town). I, of course, wanted to shop but Ray did not so we just walked through but there was a bistro literally on the ocean and waves were spilling over!

After the windmills we sunbathed at a public beach and then had a leisurely lunch at Pepper Souvlaki

Ray barring me from shopping 🙂

Seriously, just bring you swimsuit and a towel and you are set for the day! Mykonos is the perfect island to just stroll around and eat, drink, shop at your leisure. I would have enjoyed a sunset here! If you really need to do something visit Panagia Paraportiani Church or take a boat to historical Delos island nearby. Our other group travelers rented a catamaran for a lunch cruise around the island and said it was magical!
